FAQs


Q: Are the items brand-new?
A: Yes, and our suppliers swear by it. The electronic gadgets are guaranteed to be factory-fresh and have never been used. The same goes for the Lacoste shirts and dresses.

Q: If you're not selling Class A items and replicas, then why the cheap price?
A: To be honest with you, there are 3 things you need to know.

First, unlike the big names in the businesses, we don't incur overhead costs for space rental, marketing and human resource hiring in malls. Please note that we are not direct suppliers, and no we do not have connections to individuals with self-professed "special connections" to the brand. We are merely online resellers. We do not have a physical shop.

Second, distributors place a premium on parts which we do not offer. Our supplier offers only a service warranty. This means that your gadget gets repaired for free, but any cost incurred for the replacement of parts or accessories will be at the buyer's expense. Considering the cost of shipping back the gadget to the supplier for repairs, some find it more practical to spend the return shipping fee on professional repair service fees at their locality.

Third, our Lacoste apparel are clearance stocks. The shirts are relatively old styles bought from Neiman Marcus during inventory sales. (Neiman Marcus, along with Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's and Nordstrom, is one the few select high-end outlets recognized by Lacoste to distribute the designer shirts). As such, the styles are not exactly what you would call "updated." We prefer to describe them as timeless.  

Q: Do you sell other camera models?
A: As a matter of fact, we do. The Shopping Bug features our favorite finds, but we have actually sold other models not listed on site such as the Samsung ES series and the Samsung dual-view cameras. We also carry the super cool touch-screen with wifi models such as the Samsung ST80. If you have a camera model in mind, shoot us an e-mail and we'll give you a no-obligations price quote if the item is available.

Q: I've seen some shops that sell Lacoste for much less. Will you match their price?
A: Sorry, we don't do price matches. We are selling the real stuff, and we are confident that our apparel is really worth your money - quality-wise, comfort-wise and durability-wise. We tried the P500 to P750ish replicas ourselves and we were sorely disappointed that we fell for the (not that) cheap imitations.

Q: Can you give me a lower price?
A: Our prices are very low already, but we'll take P350 off the final price tag if you buy 4 or more items from the Shopping Bug. The items can be any combination of electronic gadgets or shirts. Don't miss our blog post on discounts. The discount is a one-time deduction from the total price, and not from each item.

Q: I want a Lacoste gift box. Do I need to pay for it?
A: The Lacoste gift box is absolutely free. You will receive your Lacoste shirt inside the gift box during meet-ups. If you opt for free shipping, please take note that we will purposely exclude the gift box for purchases of below 12 shirts. This is because the boxes easily get deformed and torn during shipping.

Q: So, how many gift boxes can I receive?
A: The standard ratio is 1 gift box for every 2 shirts of a similar style. The box can actually fit up to 3 shirts. For example, if you order a Lacoste polo dress, a Lacoste striped shirt and a pair of couple shirts, you will receive 3 boxes during the meet-up: 1 box containing the dress, 1 box containing the stripes and 1 box containing the 2 Lacoste Classic couple shirts.

Q: I want a Fedoboa-inspired silicone belt too! Can I get it free?
A: The belt comes FREE with every purchase of the Lacoste polo dress for meet-ups. Unfortunately, the promo has already ended.

Q: Is shipping free?
A: You bet. Local shipping is on us. Make sure that you indicate the complete address in the pre-booking form and that your area is reachable by LBC, Air 21 or JRS Express.

Q: What happens if my residential address is not serviced by LBC, Air 21 or JRS Express?
A: Please inform us ahead so we can discuss your options before you remit any payment. Meet-ups are done in SM Cebu only. With your consent, we could ship your order via snail mail. However, you may not be able to track the package and your order is not insured.

Q: How soon do you ship the items?
A: To avoid careless mistakes, we usually ship the items 1 business day after receiving the full payment. This means that if you settled your payment by 1:00 p.m. of Friday, we will ship your package on Saturday. Most couriers are closed on Sundays, so orders placed during the weekend will be processed on Monday and shipped on Tuesday, the earliest.

Q: How soon will I receive my items?
A: We are pleased to announce that we've cut the lead time from 1 week down to just 3 business days. Once you pay for your order before 1:00 p.m. of any given day, you can expect to receive the items 2 to 3 days after (or even earlier). The lead time applies to orders for local shipping and the actual delivery date depends on the the courier handling the package. By local, we mean Philippine shipping - whether you're based in Luzon, Visayas or Mindanao.

Q: I work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Can I still pay beyond the cut-off time?
A: Yes, you may but we will credit your payment as a transaction made for the following day (or in the case of late Friday payments... a Monday transaction). For example, you deposited the funds at Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. This will be reflected in our records as a confirmed order placed on Wednesday. Please note that we are firm about the 1:00 p.m. cut-off. Payments made on weekends will be processed on Monday.

Q: Do you accept international orders?
A: Only for Lacoste apparel. Freight and handling charges are shouldered by the buyer. Let us know if you're interested so we can make inquiries on your behalf. The last time we asked, most of the couriers said they are unable to transmit fragile electronic goods.

Q: I'm based in New York. Can you recommend any couriers for me?
A: You may want to avail of Johnny Air's friendly collect shipping charge of 29 dollars for the first 2 pounds. This way, you pay us only for the goods, while the delivery staff from Johnny Air collects the shipping fee directly from you after you receive the package.

Q: Do you do meet-ups?
A: We certainly do. If you're based in Cebu, you can meet up with us at SM on Sundays to claim your order. Meet-ups are scheduled after we have received full payment for your order. 

Q: Do I have to really wait for Sunday for the meet-up?
A: Yes. We are normally unable to attend to meet-ups on weekdays. Sunday is our only day off. To receive the package earlier, you may want to avail of our free shipping offer.

Q: My friends want to team up in order to avail of the P350 discount. Can we do that?
A: We don't see why not. To avoid mix-ups, please select only one contact person from your group to place the order so we can properly apply the discount.

Q: Do you accept reservations?
A: Unfortunately not. We ship items on a first-to-pay, first-served basis. The availability of stocks changes daily, and we want to give everyone a fair chance at the items we sell.

Q: I think I'm ready to make a purchase. How do I place an order?
A: Simple. Just fill out the order/inquiry form to check the availability. We will e-mail you with the final price calculation, and if you like what you see, just deposit the full payment by 1:00 p.m. of any week day. You will receive a tracking number from us once we ship the item.

Q: I placed an order but don't want to proceed with the transaction. Is that okay?
A: For unpaid orders, yes. You're not obligated to make a purchase just because you sent the order/inquiry form. Orders are only confirmed upon full payment. So, non-response or non-payment from your end means that you're no longer interested in pursuing the transaction. That's your decision, and we respect that. 

Q: I want to buy from you but don't want to disclose my personal information.
A: Please understand that filling out the order form is a necessary part of the order process on the Shopping Bug. If disclosing your name and contact details is really an issue, then you may want to explore other shops. The mall, boutiques and physical outlets are good places where you can enjoy a great degree of anonymity as a buyer... or as a window shopper for that matter.

Q: Can I skip the order form?
A: Only if you're paying via PayPal. All you have to do is click the "Add to Cart" button and select "Express Checkout with PayPal." You can bypass the order form, and pay for your order instantly. You will be issued three things: (1) a PayPal receipt, (2) an acknowledgment message from us once the funds reach our end, and (3) a tracking number the moment that we ship your item. We will mail the item(s) to the shipping address associated with your PayPal account.

Q: What happens when I pay using PayPal and the item is out of stock?
A: No worries. If you indicated a second or third choice, we will go by them. Otherwise, we will refund the full payment back to your PayPal account within 24 to 48 hours.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: You may pay for your purchases using PayPal or Unionbank deposit. Just click the "Add to Cart" button and select "Express Checkout with PayPal." Payments may also be sent to our Unionbank account via direct cash deposit at any Unionbank branch or via Unionbank online fund transfer. You will receive our bank account details and payment instructions once you place your order.
