Ahh, what's keeping you from handycams but the price?  We feel you!

Released in January 2010, the Sony Bloggie will not disappoint. It is by far the cheapest (and most colorful) camcorder we have found in the market.

The cost: no more than P8,000 -- quite a steal really when you compare it to the big boys commanding between P20,000 and P30,000.

CNet USA reviewers have given the gadget a fair rating of 3.5 stars out of 5. In Australia, this pretty baby scored 8.3 out of 10 from no less than the editors.

Suffice it to say that the Bloggie shoots vibrant videos, fits easily in your bag and beats the dust off leading brands when it comes to taking macro shots.

It's an inexpensive gift idea for a friend or favorite family member who wants to capture moments as they happen.

Some downsides:

• You will have to invest in a tripod if you've got shaky hands.
