At first glance, both styles seem identical. They are usually described by sellers to have a two-tone appearance. The collar and sleeve cuffs do not match the dominant shirt color.
Both limited edition shirts also use three pearl buttons.
A closer look though will reveal that the two are not exactly the same. The trick is to examine the color of the button placket.
Lacoste Rafting
The button placket is emphasized and takes on the same color as the collar and the cuff sleeves.
It is also important to note that the button placket looks the same inside-out - whether unbuttoned or not.
Each shirt in the Rafting collection sports a total of two colors only: a dominant shirt color and another color for the matching collar and cuff sleeves. In the photo to your right, these are blue and white (dominant).
Lacoste Petermax
There is no "extension" of the collar color. Thus the color of the exterior button placket matches that of the shirt.
Once you unbutton the shirt, you will notice that the inner button placket is already colored differently from the outer placket and the collar. In the photo, the dominant shirt color (and outer button placket) is white. The collar is aqua blue. The inner button placket is green.
In short, you see a total of three colors: one for the shirt, another for the collar and cuff sleeves, and a third one for the inner button placket.
