Is it true that all authentic Lacoste shirts come with mother of pearl buttons?

That an authentic Lacoste top should only use mother of pearl buttons is not a criterion set in stone.

Today, a number of genuine Lacoste shirts do sport plastic buttons. This was confirmed by buyers who purchase only from official Lacoste retail outlets and premium boutiques. 

Don't be surprised if the buttons of your long-sleeved shirt or striped tops don't feel cold to the touch. Plastic is in, even among expensive designer brands like Lacoste.

Verdict: Not all genuine Lacoste shirts come with mother of pearl buttons. Only the classic pique shirts from the vintage collection do. Other shirt styles may have buttons made of plastic... and surprisingly, even with the word "Lacoste" printed on them.
